Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie Crochet Pattern

Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie - beginner crochet beanie pattern

Happy FRIYAY! Let’s start the weekend off great with a new, free pattern!

The Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie is the latest addition to the Easy Breezy Family! The Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie and Easy Breezy Chunky Beanie are my 2nd and 3rd most popular YouTube videos and they use medium (4) and bulky (5) weight yarns. After getting asked so many times how to adjust the sizes of those patterns to use super bulky (6) weight yarn, I decided to write it it’s own pattern!

These patterns get their name for a reason, they’re EASY! This is a great beginner project as it basically only uses ONE stitch! This beanie is worked in rows to create a long rectangle, then seamed together and cinched at the top! Easy breezy!

The instructions include 8 sizes ranging from baby 0-3 months to adult large, but you can really make your beanie any size! Adjust the chain length as you’d like to change the height of the hat, and adjust the amount of rows worked for the width/circumference of the hat! The instructions include a 2-3″ fold over brim so keep that in mind if you’re wanting to adjust the length!

The Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie uses super bulky (6) weight yarn to create a super warm and cozy beanie! The thicker yarn makes this pattern work up fast! I was able to make an adult size in 30 minutes! I used Lion Brand Yarn Wool Ease Thick & Quick in the color Fisherman. This yarn is a great choice for this project! It’s affordable and being a wool/acrylic blend makes it comfortable and warm! Plus it’s available in a variety of beautiful colors! Shop Wool Ease Thick & Quick HERE on Lion Brand Yarn’s website or HERE on Amazon.

● Beginning chains do not count as stitches throughout the whole pattern. At the end of each row, chain 1 and turn, work the first stitch into the last stitch from the previous row.
