Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie Crochet Pattern

It’s a new Friday, and that means it’s time for another free crochet pattern! Every Friday for the month of October, I will be releasing one of my patterns from my Easy Breezy Collection! This collection includes 5 patterns that all feature the same stitch that creates a beautiful, ribbed texture! In the last 3 weeks I’ve released the Easy Breezy Bun Beanie, Easy Breezy Chunky Bun Beanie, and Easy Breezy Scarf!
Today, I’ll be sharing my BEST SELLING PATTERN on Etsy! This is the pattern that started the whole Easy Breezy Collection and it’s one of my all time personal favorites. The Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie is a classic, folded brim beanie, that features a subtle ribbed texture.
This pattern is beginner friendly and uses basic crochet stitches. It’s a simple construction and it works up fast! Instructions include 8 sizes but you can easily adjust the pattern to make ANY size! Simply, adjust the foundation chain length to create your hats height, then work as many rows as necessary to reach your desired width! The ends are then seamed together, the top cinched, and VOILA your beanie is done! Could it be any more simple?!
Not ready to make just yet?! PIN this pattern for later!
When I first designed this pattern, my tension was quite tight (something i’ve been trying to work on). So be sure to check the gauge below and adjust either the number of stitches and rows, or the hook size to reach proper gauge if necessary. The hat features a fold over brim that’s about 2-3″ tall, feel free to adjust the length of your beanie to make the brim wider or more narrow or to not have a brim at all!
I have made one of these beanies for everyone in my family and I myself have 3! I also love making these for baby shower gifts as it pairs perfectly with a Bebe Baby Blanket in matching colors!

I hope you all love this pattern as much as I do! It’s so versatile and with it’s unisex design and adjustable sizing, you can seriously make these for anyone!

Notes
● Pattern is split up between baby, child, and adult sizes. Instructions are for size small first, followed by the next size up in parenthesis.
● All sizes are written as a standard fit beanie. I have added in a recommended length to make a slouchy fit for the child and adult sizes, but you can adjust the size to any length you like! Simply make your initial chain longer or shorter. Standard fit stitch count will be in parenthesis first, followed by the slouchy fit stitches.
● Beginning chains do not count as stitches throughout the whole pattern. At the end of each row, chain 1 and turn, work the first stitch into the last stitch from the previous row.
● The number in parenthesis at the end of each row represents the total number of stitches to be worked in each row.

Fold hat in half. Working only in the front loops of the row you last worked and the beginning chain, SL ST in each ST from the bottom of the hat to the top. CH 1 and tie off yarn leaving a 24” tail. Weave tail end, in and out, around the top of the beanie. Pull tight to close up the top.
Secure with a few knots. Weave in ends, flip hat inside out, and fold up brim.

Optional: Use a Pom-Pom maker for a yarn pom, or add a faux fur pom to the top for extra fun!

Hi question on last step. It says front loop to foundation chain but on YouTube it looks like you are picking up the back row loop? Help
Hi Donna! It is the front loop, it may look like the back loop because you can see the 3rd loop from the HDC on the front but you work into the front loop! Hope that helps!
