All Star Ice Cream Pint Cozy Crochet Pattern
Happy Friday Friends! I have another new, free crochet pattern for you today! My last pattern release was the All Star Can Cozy and now I have a matching pattern for an ice cream pint! The All Star Ice Cream Pint Cozy is a quick and fun holder for your ice cream pint! It helps keep your hands from getting cold when enjoying your favorite ice cream! This design has a beautifully textured fabric thanks to the Star Stitch! It works up so quick and uses only a little bit of yarn!
Be sure to also check out the free pattern for the All Star Can Cozy HERE!
For yarn I used Bernat Maker Home Dec yarn but I also tested this pattern with worsted weight cotton yarn (Lily Sugar n’ Cream) and it worked great! I found that with a worsted weight yarn that is on the thinner side (like Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton), I just needed to work an extra 2 rounds at the end. You want your cozy to be about 3″ tall when the base is sitting flat, so repeat rounds 6 & 7 as many times as needed to get to 3″.
Round 6 is where the Star Stitch will start. The first Star Stitch of the round will be worked a bit different than the rest. Round 7 will finish off the Star Stitch, then rounds 6 & 7 will be repeated for the remainder of the pattern.
For the first Star Stitch: CH 3. Insert hook into the 2nd CH from the hook and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook). Insert hook into the next CH and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Insert hook into the base of the CH 3 and pull up a loop (4 loops on hook). Insert hook into the next ST and pull up a loop (5 loops on hook). Insert hook into next ST and pull up a loop (6 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on your hook. CH 1.
For the rest of the Star Stitches of the round: Insert hook into the “eye” of the previous Star Stitch and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook). Insert hook between the 1st and 2nd posts of the previous Star Stitch and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Insert hook into the same ST as the last worked ST of the previous Star Stitch (4 loops on hook). Insert hook into the next ST and pull up a loop (5 loops on hook). Insert hook into next ST and pull up a loop (6 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on your hook. CH 1. Repeat around.
At the end of the round, work a HDC in the same ST as the last worked ST of the previous Star Stitch. Join & CH 1.
Round 7: to finish the Star Stitch, SC in the 1st ST then SC in the “eye” of the 1st Star Stitch. For the rest of the round work 2 SC in each “eye” around. At the end of the round work 1 SC in the last ST. Join & CH 1.
Finished Size: 3.5″ x 3″
Work Rows 1-5 of the pattern. You want the diameter of the base to be 3.5”
Adjust hook size up or down to meet gauge.

● Instructions between the asterisks ** are to be repeated until the end of the round or until otherwise stated.

Round 7: SC in the 1st ST, SC in the 1st “eye” of the Star Stitch below, *2SC in each “eye” around*, SC in the last ST. Join. (35)
Rounds 8-11: Repeat Rounds 6 & 7
With your cozy sitting flat on the base, you want it to measure about 3″ tall. If your cozy is shorter than 3″ after round 11, repeat Rounds 6 & 7 again or until your cozy measure 3″ tall.
Tie off yarn and weave in ends.
And you’re all done!
